The August edition of AirWaves delivered a dynamic mix of updates, from evolving payment options and expanding Smart Connectors to our reimagined learning platform and the fast-approaching Airtime 2025. Whether you joined live or are catching up now, here’s a quick rundown of everything we covered.
Company Update – Paul Trappett, CEO
A new CEO and a familiar face in product
After three years of working closely with the team, Paul Trappett has officially stepped into the CEO role at EventsAir. With a strong SaaS background and a global mindset, Paul shared his vision for EventsAir: making it easier for event professionals to deliver standout experiences with less stress and more confidence.
Also in leadership news, long-time CCO Renee Elliott has been appointed as our new Vice President of Product, bringing over two decades of EventsAir knowledge into our roadmap strategy.
Smarter payments for changing attendee needs
EventsAir Pay is evolving to meet the preferences of modern registrants. We’ve partnered with Stripe to bring new payment options to the platform, starting with Klarna.
This shift is driven by generational change. Gen Z attendees are 33% less likely to use traditional credit cards, and 85% of them abandon checkout if their preferred payment method isn’t available.
These updates are designed to help planners increase conversion rates, improve cash flow, and meet changing attendee expectations.
Integration Update – Jase Hopkins
Smart Connectors: Now integrating faster than ever
EventsAir customers are adopting Smart Connectors at record speed, and it’s easy to see why. These prebuilt integrations eliminate manual data transfers and reduce errors across your tech stack.
New Smart Connectors released this month:
- ActiveCampaign
- Zoho CRM
- SugarCRM
- Blackbaud CRM
- Neon CRM
Recent enhancements include:
- Salesforce: Now includes Marketing Tags
- Microsoft Dynamics: Now includes Functions and Sessions
- HubSpot: Now includes Deals
And we’re not stopping there. Between now and mid-2026, over 36 new connectors are scheduled for release, including Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey, and SAP.
These are based directly on customer requests and will cover CRMs, association management systems, marketing tools, and financial platforms.
If you’ve been waiting for something specific, please submit your request here, or reach out to your Account Manager directly.
Attendee Verification continues to expand
We also shared new developments in Attendee Verification, with several new systems now supported, including:
- Aptify
- Dynamics (CRM & Entra Connect)
- HubSpot
- Monday.com CRM
- Membes
- FileMaker Pro
The goal is simple: secure, seamless access for attendees, tailored to your tech stack.
Product Update – Renee Elliott
New: The EventsAir Academy
The Fast Track program has officially been retired, replaced by the brand-new EventsAir Academy, our updated online learning experience.
Designed to help planners learn at their own pace, EventsAir Academy offers clearer lesson structures, flexible navigation, and an updated interface that matches the latest EventsAir platform.
Key benefits include:
- Topic-based learning with the option to watch, read, or interact
- More engaging activities and task-based lessons
- Updated video content reflecting the current UI
- Certification exams (beginner now available; intermediate and advanced in development)
Since launching on July 7, over 1,300 users have enrolled and 54 have already achieved beginner certification.
Even better, digital credentialing is coming soon, allowing you to share your certification via email or LinkedIn.
Sneak peek: What’s coming soon
Two exciting features are launching later this year, both heavily influenced by customer feedback.

A new event website builder will deliver faster design, with inline editing, device responsiveness, and AI-generated content. Redesigned EventsAir components will sync directly from your event data, starting with Agenda, then Speakers, Exhibitors, and Sponsors to follow.
We’re also rolling out a new way to re-engage incomplete registrations. EventsAir will capture contact information as soon as a registration begins, enabling you to send automated follow-ups to reconnect and convert.
Both features are designed to help you save time, boost conversions, and streamline your event workflows.
