September's AirWaves was hosted by Gemma Murdoch, Head of Account Management and Customer Success, who walked through the latest progress across the Air Intelligence Suite, upcoming Attendee App features, and a broader conversation about where AI is taking the events industry.

If you missed the live session, here's everything you need to know.

Air Intelligence and the Attendee App – Renee Elliott, VP of Product

Planner Assistant

A few weeks into public beta, Planner Assistant has already hit its 40% customer adoption target, faster than any other product EventsAir has released. Usage keeps climbing as planners return with more questions and explore more of what it can do.

"I think it's certainly one of the fastest products to be adopted by our customers, and the potential there is huge as customers get in and really see what it can and can't do." — Renee Elliott, VP of Product

Two updates are landing before the end of the month: conversation history, so planners can return to past conversations, run several at once, and delete old ones, and enhanced multi-event querying, which lets planners compare metrics like registration trends across up to three events at a time.

The team has also learned a lot about how planners get the best results. The key is specificity: telling Planner Assistant exactly where information lives (a marketing tag, a particular module), describing how the results should come back (a chart, a sorted list, a total), and rephrasing a question rather than repeating it. Our Prompt Playbook is also available to help planners get started.

Attendee Assistant

Attendee Assistant, our in-app AI chatbot, now uses personalization to recommend sessions and networking connections based on an attendee's job title, organization, and a short contact bio.

Ask it who to meet at an event, and it surfaces attendees with similar titles and interests, complete with a profile and a direct path into the meeting hub. Ask about sessions, and it matches title and bio against session content to recommend the most relevant ones, linking straight into the agenda.

The more complete an attendee's profile, whether that information is captured at registration or gathered afterward, the better Attendee Assistant can perform for them. The next step is making that personalization more proactive, surfacing recommendations directly in places like the meeting hub and homepage rather than only responding when asked.

A companion FAQ document has also been released to help planners fill out the static and "how do I" content Attendee Assistant needs to answer common questions about the app itself, alongside guidance on the venue, program, and logistics information it draws on.

The Attendee App

The agenda rebuild, one of the most feature-dense parts of the app, is complete and rolling out well, and the newly rewritten speakers and exhibitors lists have followed, each carrying the same look and feel through from the event website into the app. A sponsors list update is next, with brand configuration also being simplified.

Three larger updates are in progress, targeted for a first look at AirTime:

  • Messages inbox — brings every attendee-to-attendee conversation into one unified place
  • Notification center — tracks messages, connections, alerts, and published news in a single stream, linking straight to the relevant spot in the app
  • Meeting hub rewrite — a simpler, more intuitive design, rebuilt from the ground up

AI philosophy and what's next for the API – Paul Trappett, CEO

The future of event tech

Building on a recent podcast conversation with Julius Solaris and CTO Mehdi Khalili, Paul spoke to the idea that AI will mean planners interact with the platform less over time, even as it does more for them. That's part of why EventsAir has built AI directly into the platform rather than relying solely on external tools: with full context on what's actually configured in a customer's account, the AI can safely take on more.

"AI works best with context, and by putting AI into the platform, we can give it the best possible context. That also means we can safely allow the AI to do more." — Paul Trappett, CEO

With Planner Assistant conversations roughly doubling week over week, the beta period has been extended through the end of November, with usage visibility (in the form of AI credits) coming soon so planners can track their own usage as they explore.

An MCP is coming

For teams who want to connect their own AI tools directly to EventsAir data, especially larger organizations already managing their own AI layer, EventsAir will release an MCP server soon, built on the same API that powers Planner Assistant.

Planner Assistant will always have the edge in native context, since it's built with full visibility into a customer's EventsAir setup, but the MCP gives teams with the resources to run their own AI layer a genuinely powerful way to plug EventsAir data straight into it.

The 2027 State of Events survey is now live

EventsAir's annual industry survey is live for another year, gathering input that feeds back into the wider events community as well as EventsAir's own product roadmap. Customers are encouraged to take part.

AirTime 2026

AirTime, EventsAir's annual customer conference series, is fast approaching, and Tier 2 pricing closes at the end of the month, so now's the best time to secure your seat.

The team shared what they're most looking forward to seeing customers experience live:

  • Planner Assistant — the latest updates and a closer look at what's coming next
  • A rebuilt Attendee App — the new messaging inbox, notification center, and meeting hub, live for the first time
  • A completely rebuilt abstract management platform — the first public look at the new experience
  • A live demo with CTO Mehdi Khalili — building with Lovable, a no-code AI tool, using the EventsAir API
