July’s AirWaves welcomed a new host to the series. Gemma Murdoch, Head of Account Management and Customer Success, stepped in to walk through the latest product updates, Air Intelligence progress, and a first look at what’s possible when AI meets the EventsAir API.

Product and Air Intelligence updates – Renee Elliott, VP of Product
A unified abstract management platform
Abstract management is getting a full rebuild, and it’s been a long time coming. The new platform brings every capability from EventsAir’s current abstract experience together into one centralized portal, one that recognizes who’s logging in, whether that’s a planner, author, reviewer, or committee member, and shows them exactly what they need.
The rebuild has been shaped by a deep review of existing capabilities alongside months of customer feedback, and it’s designed to add meaningful new functionality along the way. Some of the most highly requested features are being built directly into the new platform, including a redesigned submission form process and multi-language portals, alongside deeper configuration flexibility for planners.
“We looked at all of the capabilities we currently have, all of the customer feedback and gaps, and pulled that together to become our vision for the abstract management platform moving forward.” — Renee Elliott, VP of Product
Customers attending AirTime will get the first look at the new platform, with a full release targeted for mid to late November.

A rebuilt agenda experience
The Attendee App is undergoing a full, ground-up rewrite, tackled component by component, and the agenda is the first major piece to be completed. The update covers the session list itself, the detailed view you land on when you tap into a session, and every interactive tool tied to it, including live polling, Q&A, discussion forums, and session surveys, all rebuilt with a fresh look and feel that carries through each event’s own branding.
It’s the first of several planned updates across the app, with more components set to follow in the months ahead. This update rolls out to customers in the coming week.
Smarter personalization for Attendee Assistant
Attendee Assistant already handles straightforward, in-app questions, from session times to Wi-Fi details. The next step is personalization: helping the assistant understand more about the person asking, so it can recommend even more relevant sessions and other attendees worth connecting with, based on their job title, organization, and bio.
When Attendee Assistant recommends a session, attendees can click straight through to it in the agenda, favorite it, and pick up the conversation right where they left off.
For planners, this makes attendee data more valuable than ever. The more complete an attendee’s profile, whether captured at registration or gathered afterward, the better Attendee Assistant can perform for them from day one.
Planner Assistant: beta timing confirmed
Planner Assistant is moving from a small pilot group toward a wider release. The team is working closely with this early group of planners to understand how they naturally phrase questions and how the assistant interprets them, work that’s central to making its insights genuinely reliable at scale.
“It’s very different to our historical development process, where it’s prescriptive and we tell it exactly what we want it to do. With AI, it really depends on how a customer asks the question and how the assistant interprets it.” — Renee Elliott, VP of Product
Early testing has also begun on action-based capabilities, allowing planners to ask the assistant to make setup changes directly rather than only surfacing insights, opening up real potential to respond to the exact workflows planners use every day.
A beta release to all customers is targeted for mid to late August, with continuous updates to follow as adoption grows.
Simplifying Smart Connectors – Jase Hopkins, Head of Integration Services
With 18 months of Smart Connector deployments behind them, the integrations team has analyzed what’s actually being used across every rollout and built that insight into a faster deployment configuration option. This has led to two clear paths: a fast-track deployment built around the configuration most customers choose anyway, and a custom option for teams with more complex environments.
“We’ve analyzed all of the deployments we’ve done, and now we want to take all of that commonality and package it up so it’s simple for people to adopt, with the minimal amount of work on the customer’s side.” — Jase Hopkins, Head of Integration Services
New Connectors continue to ship monthly, with CiviCRM and Ruby CRM joining the roster, alongside a Sage Smart Connector now configured for Australian use in addition to the UK.

Integrations are key to the event tech stack of any scaling organization, and the momentum here reflects that: 30% of new customers now choose a Smart Connector at signup, and EventsAir has passed 200 Smart Connector deployments over the last 12 months.
AI beyond the platform – Paul Trappett, CEO
CEO Paul Trappett closed the product updates with a live look at pairing EventsAir’s API with Lovable, a no-code AI tool that turns plain-English descriptions into working applications. The standout takeaway: connecting the two isn’t a heavy lift. There’s no developer required and no code to write, just an API key and a description of what you want.
To show it in action, Paul built a live registration monitoring tool for AirTime, describing what he wanted to see and giving Lovable API access to pull the data directly from EventsAir. Within minutes, Lovable had interrogated the API and generated a working report, which Paul then refined through further plain-English requests until it also surfaced insights on what might help drive more registrations. The finished tool can run on any event in the platform, and once you’re happy with it, it can be published and shared with others on the team.
“Everybody knows I’m super excited about our API and the depth and breadth and capability. One of the things that’s really special is it’s also unified, and that gives our customers an enormous amount of power.” — Paul Trappett, CEO
The bigger point isn’t the specific report Paul built, it’s what the API makes possible more broadly. With access to EventsAir’s full, unified API, the only real limit on what customers can build and test is their own imagination. Customers wanting a hands-on walkthrough of Lovable and similar tools can catch a dedicated workshop from CTO Mehdi Khalili at AirTime.
